Smithers Main Street Festival recap
Saturday, June 16th, 2012The rain that was forecast held off for our set and it looked like people were diggin’ the music, which made it more fun for us, which made for a better performance, which made for people enjoying it more… Some were taking photos and video with their phones and cameras.
Kevin Widen was the sound guy and MC. It seems to me that he has a knack for making us feel comfortable when we’re setting up. I felt relaxed and ready to rock as he introduced us. Bonus: as we were about to play our last song, he told us that we had some extra time so we did two more songs, Jumpin’ Jack Flash and Who Do You Love. That was fun.
Another bonus: the person who was organizing the live music at the street festival really liked what we did and will be organizing the music for the Smithers centennial celebrations next year and seems to be inclined to book us for that. She already has our email addresses and I gave her our card after the set. If we get hired for that one, it’ll be a paying gig. I’d almost forgotten that there is such a thing.
